It's finished...

From this...

to this...

This is the rest of our bedroom suite and was given as a Wedding gift to hubby's grandmother from her husband in 1926.
It is in perfect original condition apart from a couple of tear drop handles that are missing. We are going to replace them soon.

The suite consists of a wardrobe, dressing table, bedside cupboard, mirror and bed.

In this picture is the wardrobe, mirror and part of the bed. Refer to previous post for more pictures of the bed.

the dressing table...

and the bedside cupboard with marble top...

Then

on to
the next project...

a cedar cupboard
Most of the furniture in our house has been given by family and restored by us.

We are however running out of room in our house for all of the lovely pieces. We have more goodies out in the shed waiting for our attention including an old lead light kitchen cabinet that was my parents. I can still picture it being in our old farmhouse and can't wait to get it back to original condition as it is painted at the moment.

Take care,

Twenty years...where did it go?

Yesterday marked twenty years since hubby and I first met.

This is what I received for my 20 years of service lol...

flowers

card

& wine

from the heart...
A lovely bunch of flowers...

I am looking forward to the next twenty, hopefully they wont go as fast as the last twenty.

Love is patient, Love is kind,
It does not envy, it does not boast,
It is not proud, It is not rude,
It is not self-seeking,
It is not easily angered,
It keeps no record of wrongs.

Love does not delight in evil,
but rejoices with the truth.

Love always protects, always trusts,
always hopes, always perseveres.

Love bears all things, believes all things,
hopes all things, endures all things.

Love never ends.

My First Quilt...in pictures

Although this only took me about five years to complete lol, I am pleased with the way it turned out.

Special thank you to Beverley who helped me all the way through this process.

I don't think I have the patience to do too many more quilts, little quilting projects will be okay though.

Around home

The weather has turned colder.

Time to get the wood ready for the fire.

We found that the combustion heater needed a few repairs...

A nice big hole had rusted through the steel baffle plate,
Hubby, being the handy man that he is, made another one yesterday.

For $4.00 he bought the angle and tube and the piece of steel plate was resourced from the side of the road somewhere in our travels. He has replaced it with heavier duty steel, so hopefully this will last longer. Saved on the cost of a whole new heater or the cost of a tradesman to do the repairs.

We will be lighting the fire for the first time today as it is getting far too cold now for just blankets.

I need some help here please if anyone knows.
Now I am presuming that this may have been caused by the unseasonal weather we have had in the past twelve months.
I found this orange on our tree along with a couple of others in the same condition. Most of the oranges are still green and look okay, but a few of them have split like this one.
The mandarin tree has also got some ripe looking fruit on it but when I picked one the other day it was very dry on the inside. It is still too early for these to be ripening, most on the tree are still green.

Take care my friends,

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

God Made a Wonderful Mother

God made a wonderful mother,

A mother who never grows old.

He made her smile out of sunshine,

And He molded her heart out of gold.

In her eyes He placed bright shining stars.

In her cheeks, fair roses, you see.

God made a wonderful mother;

And he gave that dear mother to me.

Love is in the Air

Hubby is back at work after a month of holidays. When he left yesterday, I set about doing the usual housework routine and everywhere I went were these love notes. He hid them very well so when I lifted or opened something, there they were!

Do I feel special or what?

OH YES!!
