Enjoying the Simple

Beauty

Home...

Good food...

Less TV...

Nurturing...

Five new chicks...

Growing our own...

And then there is the not so simple,
like a stolen car set on fire just behind our place...

And the creepy...

I have slowed right down this week, and really tried to enjoy life...Getting some chores done with less TV, radio and internet, just the sweet sound of birds singing and the rooster crowing and the occasional music playing softly in the background.

When time goes slow, there is time to think, time to appreciate the good things, time to be grateful for all I have, time to reassess my life and where I am at, a bit of spring cleaning of the mind...

I would love to hear of what is happening in your neck of the woods. Are you living simply or is life too busy?

  1. Hi Tania

So the little bird has survived then?!! How wonderful!

After Monday I am home for an entire week and am on the count down! So much I am planning to do.

And yes I never put on the tv - just music for me too.

  2. Hi Tania

So the little bird has survived then?! How wonderful!

After next Monday I am off for an entire week - my new part time hours setting in and I am counting down! So many things I want to do.

And I never turn on the tv, just some music to listen to is beautiful!

  3. Great photos Tania. Your garden looks very healthy and productive. Sure is a creepy looking spider! Hope the little baby bird is doing well, good on you for giving him/her a fighting chance. Enjoy your garden and the weekend.

  6. Well, I enjoyed your great post right up until the spider! What sort is it?
All your other pics are beautiful, your garden is really flourishing. I hope the heat doesn't get to it too badly.
I'd love to slow down like you - I reckon I could easily go a week without seeing anyone if I could. Close the doors on the world for just one week.
    But then, there is work...

  8. Lovely post Tania. I don't think the spider is creepy at all. It is nice to take our time and become centred on what matters most to us.
    Enjoy,

  10. I am completely in love with your vegie patch. Very jealous and am going to show the photos to The Farmer and tell him to make me more raised beds. Or just make them myself.....

I think I am on the busy end of life. Kids, job, farm etc. Most of the time it is all good as I am a bit like a kelpie and need to work! Sometimes it is all a bit much and I lay low for a while. Balance is the key.

    Take care.

  11. Lovely photos...even of the spider although it is quite ugly and BIG! The veggies are doing wonderfully! Life has been just too busy around here unfortunately.

  12. Awww the sweet little bird looks like it is doing really well. I absolutely love what you have done with your television :) When we had a different style of tv I would cover ours with a beautiful table cloth, doily and a pretty during the week. Nobody liked it as much as I did!!! lol I noticed your garden beds are galvanized...do you happen to have a post about them? If would you mind answering a couple of questions like... how to construct, how they are holding up, did you decide galvanized due to the break down of wood, expense etc? Thank you so much. The garden is very neat and tidy! I really like it very much. A good example to follow :)

  16. Halloo chook! :D I am bad from the 'outback' myself, that's outback where the 'out'ernet doesn't work! All working, all good, wet, windy, chilly, in my neck of the woods, trying to summon up the enthusiasm fr vacuuming...there should be a law against it! :(

  18. Your flowers are beautiful! I wish I had veggie beds like that in my yard. Not so thrilled about the creepy 8 legged thing. :-)

  19. Wow Tania - your garden is absolutely neat as a pin! I love the galvanized beds... maintenance free, I imagine?

I never turn the tv on - never even think about it, actually. There are so many wonderful things to do without sitting in front of it listening to all the blather... The quilt is a great solution, no to mention beautiful :)
