About Me

My photo
Life on two acres of arid dirt, on the edge of the Australian outback.

Well it happened...

It rained that is...

I went out to take some pictures of the black clouds building up,

And to show you how dry it is around here,

All of a sudden the wind picked up and with it came a heap of dirt,
But then....
it rained,
and rained
for about twenty minutes, it was quite heavy to start with but then eased off...
an after shot of the chook yard...I think they wondered what happened!
Now there are beautiful blue skies with some pretty fluffy white clouds and beautiful, beautiful sunshine.

32 points (8ml)
that will do nicely and means I don't have to water the gardens tonight. I do hope there is some more on the way.

Enjoy your weekend,
( for us it is the Adelaide Cup long weekend).

xTania

We are in flood here. There is a flood plain here that they say is as big as the whole state of Victoria one of the rivers is set to peak at 14metres the highest known in the 1890's it reached 13metres. Relax & enjoy it!!

Your dust storm was just before ours! I'm sure that we have half of Australia in our pool, now, but at least it is raining. :D

  11. Yes, you got a nice shower! Just enough to dampen the dust and save you the chore of watering for a bit. And it smells so good, doesn't it?!

  13. I'll bet the chooks are looking all spruced up too after the rain. Glad you got some. Also had a look at the veggie garden pics and was very surprised at well it's all doing. Good work.

  14. Fantastic. I was wondering whether any of this rain was getting down to your part of the world...

  15. Hey, every little bit helps, doesn't it? And I'll bet everything smelled and looked so refreshed afterwards!
We've gotten some rain here, but nothing like what Melbourne recenty got - with all the hail and flooding and all. It usually hits us first, then makes it's way to Melbourne about an hr or 2 later... but this time it slid right over us, and hit the city, big time!

  19. Hello Tania, Thank you for visiting my blog. Just the fact that one more person knows about this situation is a positive. I'm not sure what can be done either but I will continue to pray about it.
How lovely that you have had some rain. We had a sheep farm for 20 years and I know what its like not to have rain, so I hope you get more, nice steady soaking showers.

    Blessings Gail
