The Breakaways - Definitely a sight worth seeing!

Just a short drive from Coober Pedy is this gorgeous sight.

One of the wonders of the Outback

Full of differing pretty colours

No words needed for these pics

This was the best time of the day to see the Breakaways.
From 4pm to sundown...perfect!

I hope you have enjoyed taking the journey with me J

 Normal blogging will resume shortly.

Wishing you a fantastic day!

Travelling home - Mintabie

We left Alice Springs at about 8am, and were pleased to see this site when heading out.

I don't think I would like to go up in one of these.

We stopped at this memorial spot along the road.  These people died while competing in the Northern Territory Cannonball Run in 1994.

Another stop at the border for a cup of tea and a stretch.
We had these little cuties to keep us company, I love the little beeping sound of the zebra finch.
Beep, beep, beep...

I had the wrong lens on so the shots are a little blurry.

Hubby had the idea to turn off the highway and take a look at the small mining town of Mintabie
I wasn't sure if I wanted to, but what would I know, I was only the passenger lol!

We saw Camels!

Mintabie in the distance.

A very quiet little mining town about 40kms (25miles) off the Stuart Highway.

We drove around for a quick look.

Found the pub!

There was not much to see...

Except for these old wrecks!

I thought you would get a giggle from this sign.
It is at Glendambo on our way home, where we stopped  for lunch.

Tomorrow I will finish off our road trip with photos of the spectacular Breakaways just out of Coober Pedy.

The Wedding in Alice Springs

Just a few photos from my nephews wedding.  Hubby took these...
It was a gorgeous sunny day, the weather could not have been more perfect J

The wedding was held at this lovely setting,
the grounds of the Telegraph Station in Alice Springs.

The beautiful bride arrives...

With my brother...

The bride with her sister and bridesmaid...

 The gathering...
It was a very small and private ceremony on the banks of the Todd River

Very emotional.

Yours truly with my mum J

Group photo with the bride and groom...

My nephew and niece  J

The night before the wedding we gathered together for a BBQ. It was lovely to catch up with family again. This doesn't seem to happen very often these days unless there is a special event.  There is a lot of distance between us. My only brother and nephew live in Alice Springs and my niece in New Zealand.

Hubby volunteered to be the chef,
helped by my dad J

Hubby and I with the bride and groom to be...

 With both sets of grandparents...

Back tomorrow with our journey home, I have more of Australia to share with you  J

See you then,
