Just a quick post...

to let you know that I have a broken computer. The power supply cord has decided it is time for me to have a break from spending so much time on the laptop and has stop working.

Amazingly I am getting plenty done around here, and have just borrowed my son's computer while he is watching a movie to let you know of my dilemma!

The other news is we have had local flooding here today with 3 inches of rain falling in a short period of time, there was water everywhere. We also had 1.5 inches yesterday. An unusual event where we live but the past three years it has been a regular occurrence. The weather is heading east my friends and it has a lot of water coming with it, so take care.

Hopefully I can get my computer fixed soon so I don't get too behind with your blogs.

Have a great Sunday,

xTania

Just adding a link to a local blog, Sharp Reflections. Georgie has captured some beautiful pictures of Port Augusta if you want to take a look.

That time of year again and a sleepover

We have been home from our trip to Queensland for just over a week. I am still sorting through the many photographs so I can do a post on here.

We were away for three weeks and while gone our quandongs (wild peach) ripened and were mostly laying on the ground beneath the trees. So we collected up as many of the good ones we could,

and hubby set to work de-seeding them in preparation for stewing. He was kind enough to do the cooking for me...

The end result...
a yummy wild peach pie.
We had our grandson sleep over the other night. His mum had to work and dad was working away so we picked him up from school.

He thought he was in need of a little exercise on the Wii fit
(something I bought for keeping me fit, but I rarely get on it)
oh the concentration..
And a little bit of dinky car fun.
He also got me to dragged out our two large boxes of lego for some construction learning.

To finish off he wanted to play mathletics on my laptop. A great site for the littlies to learn maths. I was very surprised at how good he is at doing sums and he is a very good reader. Our son also goes on this site from time to time.

The little fella ate all his dinner, had a shower and hopped into bed for a good nights sleep. Next morning, bright and early at 6.30 I could hear him up and about, so I crawled out of bed to find him all dressed in his school uniform playing quietly with the lego :)

Our grandson doesn't get to sleep over much so it was great to spend some quality time with him, they grow up so quickly, I can't believe he is already 6 1/2 years old.

We have experienced an interesting week of weather, from pouring rain when we arrived home, to freezing cold and fire on at night, to two days of 31C (87.8F) on Thursday and 34C (93.2F)on Friday. Today it is back to cold again with a little more rain, but it will warm up to 34C (93.2F) by Thursday again next week. The weather really can't make up its mind.

A busy week ahead for me, I have three houses to give a full clean from top to bottom, oh the joy...

Wishing everyone a lovely weekend,

xTania

You are indeed a great friend...

Back soon

Sorry for my absence but I am on an adventure in Queensland with my family for a few weeks and won't be getting any time to blog.

So far we have had lots of rain here in 'sunny' Queensland. Today the sun did appear however so we were finally able to have a look around in sunshine instead of rain.

Have been really busy taking in the sights.
We went to Australia Zoo and that has been a highlight of our visit so far. Have hit the shops at Maroochydore and Mooloolaba, been to a couple of markets, Caloundra and Eumundi, Noosa Heads, Ettamogah Pub, The Big Pineapple, taken dh and ds to the big kart track for some serious go carting, the Air Museum in Coloundra, the Glass House Mountains, King's Beach, Underwater world, and the list goes on...

The Forrest Glen park we have been staying at is great, with a big heated pool and plenty of activities for the children. We leave tomorrow for Treasure Island and do the theme parks on the Gold Coast this week.

I will be back soon with some photos of our journey,

I think I may go home to the dry country, pack my bags and head up here now I know what I am missing out on lol. Everything is so green and lush, why would you want to live anywhere else.
