Hot, hot, hot!

This is what the heat feels like atm!!

Not looking good for Christmas this year...

It reached 46C (114.8F) yesterday,
it was supposed to be 42C (107.6F)...

By 9.30am today it was 40C (104F),
Its going to be a couple of long days...

They have forecast 44C for tomorrow, but it is looking like the temperature may rise as high as
47 - 48C (116.8 -118F)
I hope not!!

We just have to stay home and take care of the animals and garden in these temps!

Stay safe, cool or warm, depending on where you are J

  1. You better dress like Arabs if you go out in the sun, too hot to be doing much. It is 25 F before sunrise Thursday.

  2. Oh Tania that is SO very, very hot. I've just come back from Western Australia in the central wheatbelt area and on the farm it got to 46 one day. It's hard to cope with after a while. I hope you get some relief. Take care,
    Anne xx

  3. Goodness me, Tania that is hot! I thought Mt.Isa was hot as it has been around 40 degrees since September but the temps you are having are incredible! Hopefully it won't last too long and you will be back to cooler weather soon. I hope your garden survives too and that those Ollas are doing their job.:-)

  4. Tania

Just remember - if the heat starts to get you down, either wear dripping wet clothing, or sling a wet towel round your shoulders. I promise it works! :)

  7. Och Tania, here we are, freezing!
Guess we can add a layer but there is only so much you can remove in the heat!
Thinking of you and praying for no wildland fires!
Take care, enjoy the Season and Merry Christmas!

  8. I'll say it again, I'm amazed at how you grow what you do in your climate. I do feel for you and think how great our weather is here in Tas. We might moan a bit about the cold but it is easier to deal with on the whole. Wish I could send you our cool change (back down to 20 tomorrow). Merry Christmas to you and yours. Tx

  9. Good luck with that. Here the weather will be milder with a strong chance of a cyclone over the next week or so. I am expecting light breeze in the mornings with humidity at 90% and air conditioning in the afternoons. I will think of you as I sit inside and sip my coffee.
Just think. You can even watch the railway tracks buckle in the heat.

  10. Yes the temp here yesterday was 40 but it's cooler today. I don't like extreme heat. Stay inside for the worst of it and stay cool

  11. Be safe, Tania! Don't forget to water mist the chooks and keep them in the shade, too. Wish I could send you some of our cold temps.

  13. Tania, I think I'd take the heat right now... It's snowed every day but one since the 15th, I have more snow in my yard now that I did at the end of March last year.. There's about 10-15 cms that have fallen so far today, and there's more to come... Can we trade places for a month?

  14. Tania, those temperatures are killers. Hope you are staying out of the sun.

It is raining here. Has been raining for 36 hours straight. Trees down, and the creeks are coming up out of the beds. Wish we had a little of that sunshine.
