On my mind is this pretty Lavender Cleaner. I am pleased with how it turned out, with it's lovely smell and colour, and I cant wait to try it around the home...
Just a jar of vinegar with lavender flowers and stems added.
Recipe can be found here
That looks soo pretty! Thanks for link I will make some!
ReplyDeleteYay! It's good to see someone else using lavender spray, everyone seems stuck on the citrus. My grandmother used to use this, I use her recipe but it's just fresh lavender and vinegar. Simple as.
ReplyDeleteI have done this before by just using lavender essential oil in vinegar. I have tried to grow lavender with out sucess. I love it when bloggers jog your memory of things you haven't done for yonks!
ReplyDeleteDo you grow your own Lavender Tania?
Hahaha not very well Caroline. Lavender and me are not a good mix lol. I got the flowers from my daughter and friends...
ReplyDeleteOooh I gotta try that. I was using the citrus but I have lavendar plants going mad at the moment so I just have to go and try that right now lol.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
thanks for the inspiration .. I have lavender growing and wasn't sure how I wanted to preserve some this year.
ReplyDeleteOh what a lovely colour it's gone, Tania...must try this too. I made the one with whole cloves in it...I like the smell but it's very dark and shows if I don't wash it off properly,

ReplyDeleteJennifer
I've used the lavender oil- never thought to try it with fresh. Thanks for the idea!
ReplyDeleteI will be trying this just as soon as my lavender starts flowering again after it's winter 'haircut'! I'm looking forward to it!
ReplyDeleteGood idear i will have to try:)
ReplyDeleteI must give that a go, the smell must be nicer than the commercial products.
ReplyDeleteYay! I'm always looking for different ways to use lavender, so I'll be trying this one for sure.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!
Is there a certain type of lavender that you need to use? We have French lavender in our yard but I've always assumed that with all lavender recipes you need the English variety (eg to dry and put into potpurri etc). I might try this too!
ReplyDeleteHi Lilian, welcome and thank you for your comment. That is a good question, I am not sure what sort of lavender I used because it was given to me. For this mix I used the pretty pink/purple lavender. I have what I call plain lavender (light purple) brewing at the moment, so will have to wait and see how that turns out. I just presumed any sort of lavender...
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the link to the recipe. I have printed it off for future use.
ReplyDeleteOohhh thanks for this Tania! Lavender is one of my favourite scents/oils and I am using lemon at the moment, so it would be a nice change!
