We got one!

After a lot of consideration we decided to purchase a dehydrator.

I have seen these in use on blogs that visit so I am looking forward to having a go...

Wishing you all a great day,

xTania

  2. I'd think you'd live in a good climate for air-drying, though I'm sure the new unit is more dependable.

  4. We have one..not as fancy or big as yours..but love apple rings, banana slices, mango puree..like rollups, mango slices, apricots and others that I can't remember right now..so delicious and takes full advantage of cheap or home grown fruit.

  9. There are fantastic You Tube videos done by people following the raw food movement. They use these to make amazing food items, from dried fruit to chips!!!

When on You Tube - type in raw food. I think you will find lots of inspiring ideas!

  12. Look forward to your dryings !

Keep us posted, I'm really keen on getting something a bit more productive into our house.

Fruit leathers are a favourite here (and bananas when they are cheap).

  15. Hello Tania,

I've had my dehydrator for many years now and it was one of the best purchases I ever made. We mainly do fruit but I think now we have such a large veggie garden that I'll be trying veggies as well this year. When I do my fruit I don't find I need to dip them in lemon juice as they suggest. Just slice them and pop them in. Also you'll find when the weather is humid things take longer to dehydrate. But I can assure you this will open up a whole new world to you. Have fun experimenting.

    Blessings Gail
