Hotting up for November

It is nearly swimming pool weather.
The season has been mild so far but now the heat has arrived. Hubby had this lovely green mess to clean up in our pool. He took the cover off to discover all this algae had formed even though through Winter he had treated and cleaned the pool a couple of times! Maybe it is because the hot weather is late this year and the pool would normally be ready to use in late August...

But after a frustrating day of trying to figure out how to get rid of the green problem, he finally worked it out with the help of YouTube.

It is now ready to go!

Today is supposed to be 37C (98.6F).

The hot north wind is blowing quite strong and it is a good day for staying indoors.

The temperature for the rest of this week is quite hot too!

I am hoping that the radio weather person has got it right for the long range weather forecast for Summer. He is suggesting that November will be a hotter than normal month, but December and January may bring more above average rain than usual, which should keep the temperatures lower.

These are the temperatures expected for this week as forecast by willyweather

Sunday 37C (98.6F)
Monday 33C (91.4F)
Tuesday 37C (98.6F)
Wednesday 29C (84.2F)
Thursday 33C (91.4F)
Friday 37C (98.6F)
Saturday 38C (100.4F)

So looks like Wednesday we get a bit of relief from a cool change :)

Off to check my veggie garden now to see if it needs the shade put over.

Have a great day everyone!

  9. Greetings from the Pacific Northwest Tania!
Being so near the rainforest and flanked by 2 mountains chains, I can tell you our island weather predictions are rain, rain and more rain (it's often foggy too, a thick marine fog at that and if there is a sprinkle of snow, we post it on the Net!)
Enjoy the warm weather! Being a northern girl, I prefer cooler temperatures (I melt at 21 C/70 degrees F.)
    Blessings,

  10. What a great job was done on cleaning the pool. I must confess I'm so Jealous of the pool! :) Oh well we have sprinklers to run through on the hot days :) I'm quite surprised over here as it's been wetter and cooler than I remember in November, as I look out the window it's grey and threatening rain and I'm sitting here wrapped up in a long sleeve and jersey...doesn't feel like we're entering summer at all! Take Care Tania. Regards, Ruth

  12. We average in the low 30's here in tropical Queensland, and that might not seem so hot until you count in the humidity! We have been swimming since August, and a dip makes all the difference to cooling down.. your pool looks very inviting.

  13. Super Husband! What a transformation. A pool would be well used where you are. It gets hot here too, and in the town just an hour north of us it is rare NOT to have a pool! Enjoy!

  14. When our boys were younger we had a pool also. I remember one summer we went on vacation and came back to a green pool. Yuck. We had to super shock it.

  16. I'd love a pool and one day we'll get one put in. One day...

We've got the creek down the back but we've seen so many brown snakes down there lately I don't like going that far.
