Hi Tania, the spread is lovely I am a chenille freak too and have collected several, it amazes me how well they last,I think the housewives of the past really wahsed everything caringly and it shows on all the old linnens etc.
I love chenille too..I have a stash of 35 in my cupboard ..thanks to good 'ol ebay !! I collected them afew years ago now, when singles were going for $15 and doubles $25. Love the colours in yours..and its in great condition too, thats hard to find now.Usually there is alot of wear around the pillow end..
'Oh Chenille, you are divine.' If I ever get another daughter (unlikely due to being post meno) I am definitely going to call her Chenille...but you have to say it in that wonderful nasal aussie way with an upward inflection on the end.
Drooooooooooool!
ReplyDeleteLurve vintage chenille sigh.
Don't know if you mean the whole ensemble, the bed, or just the coverlet, but it all looks nice.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful - enjoy :-)
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful, absolutely...I have my mother's single, and my nana's double...they are just so precious...it looks lovely in your bedroom....
ReplyDeleteThe Chenille bedspread was purchased off eBay. Sorry for any confusion.
ReplyDeleteThe bedroom suite belonged to my husbands grand parents. His grandfather gave it as a wedding present back in the 1920's. It is in original condition.

I remember having one of these when I was little, or maybe on my mums bed. But I used to love the feel of it.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous chenille. I love these old bedspreads and they are so hard to find now. I have one, but it sadly is too small for our bed.
ReplyDeleteVintage chenille, now that brings back memories of our farm house when I was 4-5 years old. Nice!
