Prayers please

I know,
I am probably worrying unnecessarily,
but I am a Mother and this is the hardest job there is.

I am home,
not sleeping,
it is getting late,
while our son is in hospital for the night.

He had a nasty fall today,
....BOYS!!!
He was knocked unconscious and convulsed.
Luckily he had his friends with him and they called an ambulance.

He will be under observation tonight at the hospital with 1/2 hourly obs.
Has had a CT scan and that looks clear which is good news.
Has two nasty googs (lumps) on his head.

At this stage he seems to be okay,
but that doesn't stop me worrying my heart out.

This is some pics I took of him playing soccer yesterday afternoon,

For those that do,
please say a prayer for our boy.

God willing he recovers well with no side effects from the head injury.

Thank you all,

xTania

Christmas in Australia

A couple of Aussie Christmas songs for your enjoyment

I am happy to report that after a very hot day yesterday, it is raining today, so the garden will get some relief from the heat.

Enjoy your Sunday,

Thingamajig

Does anyone else use one of these?

I am not sure what this little gadget is called, but I have been using it for about two years now.
I came across one while staying at my friends house when she was using hers.
She told me to go to Woolworth's and for about $9.00 I could pick one up too,
which I did the very next day.

If you use oil spray in your cooking as I do, this will save you some money on those oil spray cans. All you do is add oil and pump it with the black lid and wa la you can spray!
We are feeling the heat here at the moment, 37C (98.6F)today.
Another hot day again tomorrow with it being 38C (100.4F).

Really can't complain as we haven't had much hot weather so far this year.

I did decide in my wisdom to plant my seedlings out (that I had grown from seed in egg cartons)a few days ago in the new garden beds.

THAT was a BAD idea...

They are not looking healthy at all!

Definitely not liking this heat...

We have put up shade, mulched, and the soil is moist, but alas it is not going to be enough. So now I will have to wait until it cools down a bit and try again. Next time I will check the weather a bit more carefully before hand!

Have a great weekend everybody,

Apple Roly Poly

Homemade goodness...

an easy old fashioned recipe

Rub 2oz butter into 1 cup SR Flour, add pinch of salt, mix to a stiff dough with some milk. Roll out and cover with grated apple and sugar. Roll up and cut into slices 1" (inch) thick. Place side by side in pie dish. Pour over 1 tbspn golden syrup, 1 dspn butter, 1/2 cup sugar dissolved in 1 cup of hot water. Bake until golden brown.

Enjoy!

Home

The warmer (hot) weather is here at last. We have had an odd day here and there that has been hot but has also been followed by a week of cooler weather.
Not this time, yesterday was 35C (95F), today 37C (98.6F) and tomorrow will be 38C (100.4F) and pretty warm for the rest of the week. The weather has been kind to us this year, unlike last November when we had record breaking high temperatures. See last years posts here and here.

Around my home...

Some of the books I am reading.

Wash day today.
With this weather,
I washed, hung out, got in, folded and put away by lunchtime.

doing my bit to conserve water by carting rain water to the washing machine.
also washing my dishes in rain water.

old friends.
cosy bed.
quilt.
family time
with loved ones.

new life.
around the yard...

Picked my first rose today.
beautiful aroma.
tiny butterfly.
native Australian plants.

Bright colours.

herbs.

spring onions gone to seed.
sundown tonight at the salt lake behind our place. It has water in it from all the rain. Usually this is just a dry salt pan.
Todays sunset...
Sometimes it is so nice to be able to enjoy just being home with the beauty that surrounds us.

I hope you are enjoying your time at home,

xTania

Just playing

My early birthday and Christmas present from hubby (gotta love him). I have been throwing hints around for a few years now and e v e n t u a l l y I got my wish.
All I have to do now is learn how to use it. I thought I might join up with a photography group/club but it looks as though this town doesn't have one, so I will just have to teach myself.
Loving the photos...

This mushroom appeared in the front garden after the last lot of rain.
Millie
Chooks
I took some photos of flowers while visiting with my mum and dad yesterday.
Roses.

Pansies.

My son took these two pics of a thistle.

Even captured a bee!
An unusual geranium plant,
this is the final flower, bred to look like tiny roses.
Take care,

x Tania
