You can see where Port Augusta is located on this map, at the top of Spencer Gulf...

The nearby bridge that crosses over the sea from east to west and vice versa...

The old and the new bridges...the old one is no longer in use for vehicles, but can be walked on and fished from...

 I was hoping for a nice bright red sunset, but this one will do...

Love the little bit of cloud over the sun as it sunk down...

It is cooler now for a little bit then hotting up again by next Thursday.

For my overseas friends, Port Augusta and the surrounding areas experience very hot and dry  conditions in Summer with temperatures that can reach up to 122F (50C). Thank goodness this doesn't always happen, but we can have up to two weeks at a time of extreme heat with temperatures somewhere between 113F (45C) and 118.4F (48C).  We also dont receive much rain here, but the Australian outback does provides some beautiful sunrises, sunsets and scenery...On my side bar is The Sentimental Bloke, he shows spectacular pictures of the nearby outback if you want to have a look.

Garden update...

After this spectacular sunrise this morning...

I ventured out to the garden...

It was 6.30am so not much sunshine on the plants...

The beetroot...

Sweetcorn...

Damn birds had pulled out one of the plants so I have since covered the bed with mesh for now...

Brussels sprouts

(I think this is what they are, as I haven't grown these before)...

You can just see the potatoes popping their heads up...

The bees are enjoying them...

 My poor Strawberry plants have struggled since I planted them out into the garden.  They are looking better now with new shoots starting, thank you Spring :)

 Some more potato plants have appeared...

Broccoli, cucumbers, beetroot and my huge spring onions that could pass for leeks lol!

I am proud of my lettuce.

I got twenty seven plants from one punnet

They are starting to form their heads now...

They will all be ready at once, so not sure what I am going to do with twenty seven lettuces!

 I noticed I have a baby cauli :)

Not sure if it will form properly as I think the season is a bit late.  

Time will tell...

The Citrus is in bloom again,

 Plenty of young apricots,

Hope they hang on with the strong wind we are having today...

Nectarine, 

these will be light on this year as hubby has given the tree a much needed prune...

New shoots and grapes on the vines...

 Fig tree has re sprung into green...

So has the mulberry...

Will need to put more water onto this tree to get it to grow properly, It has struggled since we planted it.

 Morning sunshine on my Rosette geranium (that is what I call it) that my mum gave me recently.  This is the flower, it doesn't open right up, just looks like a cluster of tiny roses...

I have placed lavender near all my doors, hoping that the little flies stay away...

A very warm windy day here today and a hotter one forecast for tomorrow. Hopefully there will be some rain at the end of it, but that's not likely.  It has been a while since we have had a decent rain...
