Spring Chicken

This little chicken hatched out on Monday. My son's class were learning all about chickens at school. They put some eggs in an incubator and this is the result. All the children, with permission from parents were allowed to take a chick home. Spending some time outside in the sunshine.

Millie has a new friend, although she appears to be licking her chops!?!
Would you believe it we had some rain for about an hour last night! We received 6mls (24pts).
Today was a lovely sunshiny day and tomorrow is meant to be hot again, 35C (95F). This bit of rain was the only rain since June 2008. The plants are loving it.
I leave for Perth tomorrow night so I will see you all when I get back.
Stay safe
Tania

  1. I bet the rain freshned things up for you even if it just washs the dust of things when I was living in western QLD it was lovely if we got a shower after a sandstorm. Isn't it nice when the kids do hands on projects at school.

  10. Hi Tania

Just found your blog thru the Old Dairy. Out of your blog roll list, I visit 8 of those sites regularly. Amazing. I'll keep visiting you now. Lovely to hear you've had rain. We live in the 'Green Triange' in the Lower SE of South Aus so we are lucky to have the odd sprinkle of rain this time of year although we need more for crops.
Sorry to hear about your friends heartbreaking news. Safe trip.
