Things are very dry here...
This is our back lawn area,
and our rogue chooks! Geez they make a mess of things lol!
The garden is still hanging in there.
The rockmelons are getting smaller with the cooler weather...
The Sweet potatoes are growing well in the bath...
Capsicums...
And strawberries...
Chives and cucumber...
Potatoes springing into life...
Basil...
Carrots...
New self seeded spring onions and silverbeet/rainbow chard...
Tiny toms...
Rhubarb, celery and silverbeet, and a hanging rockmelon...
Rhubarb is going great guns, must be the homemade liquid pig manure we are putting on the soil...
Bags of piggie poo...
Mixed with water to make a brew...
Hubby set this up for me in the garden, including a tap to make things less messy...lets watch the plants go crazy now...
Zucchini's are just about finished for the season. I didn't have a great deal of success with these this year, but we did get enough for a feed before the mildew set in :)
Feral broccoli...
I feed this to the chooks over Summer.
The orange tree is loaded, I cant wait until these are ready...
Plenty of mandarins too...
And Grapefruit...
Autumn on the mulberry tree...
And the grapevine...
One lonely apple...
One lonely olive...
Some bag making...
Last nights dessert
Rhonda's Lemon Pie...
Ever seen a trapdoor spider up close??
Creepy!
Don't worry this fella was dead on the top of his hole out in the veggie garden...
This wolf spider on the other hand was very much alive!
Beautiful Autumn sunsets...
And a full moon...
Due to slow internet I haven't been able to post as often as I would like. Many phone calls have been made but there is nothing they can do to improve our service...talk about living in the dark ages lol!
I will try and get back to posting regularly, but it may mean I will need to downsize my posts :)
This year is flying by, I have been extra busy around here catching up with jobs and running teenage son to Tafe and work experience. Our fingers are tightly crossed that he picks up an electrical apprenticeship this year.
Very cool here today with a sprinkling of rain, just in time as I planted out some seedlings yesterday. Onions, beetroot and broccoli went in and some more sweet potatoes.
Blessings to you all,
xTania
