Around here ~ Winter colour

I have been enjoying the colours of Winter.

Winter does not have to be dark and dreary all the time.

Take a look around and there is colour everywhere.

We have had rain. Lots of rain!

So far 33mm (132pts) with still more to come.  For the first time in ages I didn't get my washing dry, but I think I can live with that little bit of inconvenience.  I don't own a dryer so I have relocated the soggy washing to underneath the verandah and the smaller items are drying inside by the fire J

After much thought, I have started another blog.  It will be mostly about homemaking, so if you want to follow along come on over
I will be keeping Out Back blog for the time being J

Have you had rain at your place?

    1. I love our sunsets too Phil and the sunrises can be just as stunning. We are lucky enough to experience the lovely outback sunrises and sunsets.

  2. Lovely photos! Yes, we have had lots of rain too - not pouring though, just that gentle soaking rain that lasts for days. Great for my new garden!

    1. Glad to hear that the rain has been widespread Jayne. A gentle soaking is the best type of rain. Amazing how the plants come to life again after a rain, and the veggie plants double in size.

  3. We've had threatening clouds but not much out of them, just piddly showers. The days have been bleak so my washing takes 2 days under the pergola to dry off - the only thing I dont like about winter.

    2. That'd be right! Was planning a paddock barby again this weekend as our girls are coming home - it'll probably be a wash out like last weekend! :)

    1. Oh yes Linda, the green is beautiful. We enjoy it immensely as it is only here for a short amount of time per year, come August and the landscape turns brown again.

  6. awesome photos, one thing i like about aussie winters is that they are actually quite colourful, wattles are flowering it's always green (or seems to be) many bottle brushes have their beautiful pinks, reds & bronze new growth
getting nice steady soaking rain here too & i think it might actually get cold now that it's wet, it's still around 20`c & a little cooler at night
like the new blog too & hope you do keep this one going as lots of good info in here too, even if you don't write in it.
    thanx for sharing

    1. Glad to hear you have had rain too Selina. It has not been too cold here which makes the wet more tolerable.

I will keep this blog going as there are things I can post about here that are more suitable to this one than my other blog. I just wont post as often, which is what has been happening anyway.

      Thank you for you comment.

  7. Tania, that is good rainfall that you had. We have just had about 12 mm when a rain band came through from the west and thankfully some of our farmers out west got rain for the first time in ages. Love the photos of your flowers. I will have to check out your new blog. Sounds interesting!

  8. Hi Tania,

Lovely photos with lots of colour alright. We've had a tiny 6mm of rain recently but I'll take what I can get. Your new blog looks good, will bookmark it as well.

    1. So sorry you haven't had any rain Barb. I thought it was pretty widespread but obviously not everywhere. At least some drought areas did receive some.
