Hello friends.
Last weekend we took the campervan to Port Lincoln to get away and spend some time with friends.
While we were there we viewed an open garden. The weather was lovely with the sun shining brightly. This beautiful garden has been created using permaculture.
The photos have been downloaded straight from my phone onto this blog.
Enjoy.
Pride of Madeira, the bees love this plant, so we have brought home a seedling to see if it will grow here.
The plant below is another favourite of the bees. I will try and find out the name and hopefully give it a go here.
Beautiful poppies.
Love this.
Veggie patch.
There seems to be a lot of leaf curl around this year.
The resident Koala.
I have returned home with new inspiration although the climate is very different here.
I will keep moving ahead with creating a permaculture garden. At the moment the weather is perfect, we have not had any hot weather yet, instead there has been lots of rain.
See you soon,
xTania
They look fantastic. I’m inspired. If only this rain wouod go away. I could get in and get things done
ReplyDeleteHi Angela,
DeleteEven where we are there has been lots of rain. Everything is waterlogged, but not flooded thank goodness. Hope you are safe from flooding xxx
That garden is beautiful & very inspiring Tania. Sometimes we need to go look at things like that to re-inspire ourselves. I think that plant might be a euphorbia but I am not certain. xx
ReplyDeleteIt sure is beautiful Julie. Thank you for the plant name, will research it now and see if its the one xxx
DeleteBeautiful! I can see why you were inspired. I'm always in awe of gardens that are so well maintained as that. My intentions are always good, but the drought tolerant grasses and weeds always take over at some point. Still, it's nice to know someone can stay on top of it!
ReplyDeleteHi Leigh, some people are just so talented in how they design things. I have now idea and just plonk things everywhere, sometimes it works, sometimes not. We have so many grasses and weeds this year due to the rain, it looks like a prairie out back instead of the desert. So wonderful to see for a change, but other areas in Oz are not so lucky with flood after flood after flood.

I can see why you would find that garden inspirational. It was really beautiful. You are getting our normal weather and we are getting yours. The temps arent what you get but still hot enough. We have had some passing storms that are real bang flash scary ones, but they arrive and leave in a matter of minutes. These are keeping the humidity high. We are still having to water everyday. I hope your garden is coming back after being shredded by the hale not that long ago.
ReplyDeleteHi Jane, yes the good news is things are coming back, the rain has really helped out. The weeds are out of control, everything is green and there are lots of native grasses and wild flowers that I've never seen before. We almost need to own a mower to keep on top of the weeds. The weather is so strange for this area, the sub soil moisture is at least a metre down now, which is good. Will definitely help if we ever get summer this season.

Hi Tania, I wouldn't like to be the one responsible for the upkeep on that garden! Just love the Koala. We have had two garden outings here in the last year and the gardens are just amazing. It certainly helps to inspire. Hope all is well Robyn xx
ReplyDeleteThank you Robyne. Yes the garden would take a lot of work. They are both dedicated and thrilled with their outcome of a beautiful garden from their hard work. They live right by the sea, so a lovely view as well. I am doing okay, but have lost my enthusiasm for the things I used to enjoy, hopefully it will return soon xxx
